It’s been an exciting time here in Gwangju with the FINA Championships, and there are still a couple of days left to enjoy the competition. The last day of the event will be this Sunday, the 28th. If you weren’t able to catch any of the events don’t worry, the FINA Master’s Championships begin on the 5th of August.
Friday, July 26th
I know one place where you can cool off in Gwangju, and that’s Tequilaz. Their Friday night specials will help you beat the heat. You can enjoy their tasty tacos for only 3,000 won each. Wash them down with unlimited draft beer for only 15,000 won. If you’re not into beer, then you can have unlimited rail cocktails for only 20,000 won. Saturday, July 27th
If you missed the first round of auditions for the Gwangju Performance Project’s next production of Shakespeare’s A Winter’s Tale, don’t worry beccause the next ones are coming up this weekend. They will take place today, and Sunday starting at 1:00 p.m. If you have a monologue to perform, please bring it along. If you don’t, then something will be worked out. For more information, please check out the Facebook event page. The auditions will be held at the GIC.
Also happening this Saturday at the GIC is another edition of the GIC Talk series. Today’s speaker is an associate professor from Universiti Sains Malaysia, and he’ll be talking about the school he works at. There’s always a party at Loft 28 on Saturday, and tonight is all about the ladies! Yes, it’s another of their successful ladies nights. Ladies who make a reservation (3 or more) will receive a free bottle of alcohol. You’ll be able to enjoy other drink specials, and your favorite music from Loft’s DJs.
