You might have noticed that your regular bus might be taking longer than usual. That is due to school summer vacation.
Gwangju City Hall and the Gwangju Bus Operators Association will reduce the number of intra-city buses during the summer vacation period between July 24th and August 18th.
141 buses on 62 routes will be taken out of operation as they are expecting a decrease in the number of student passengers.
Travel intervals will be extended by 1 to 10 minutes on mainlines and 5 to 15 minutes on branch lines.
Temporary bus schedules are available on the city’s website.
Choi Tae Jo, Head of the City Hall’s Public Transportation Division said that the decision was made based on the usual drop in bus users during the vacation period and the City will minimize inconveniences for bus users by concentrating buses in peak commute hours.
