Thursday, October 17th
There’s still two weeks left in which you can visit the 2019 Gwangju Design Biennale. See some of the best examples of design from all over the world right in your backyard. Friday October, 18th
It’s Friday night, and that means it’s time for great specials at Tequilaz! You don’t want to drink on an empty stomach, so enjoy some of their great tacos for only 3,000 won. After you’ve eaten, then you can have unlimited draft beers for just 15,000 won. Not into beer? That’s OK because Tequilaz has unlimited rail drinks for only 20,000 won. Saturday, October 19th
It’s the third Saturday of the month which means it’s time for the GIC Saturday Art Class. In honor of Inktober, there will be an ink workshop today. Participants will be able to create a variety of different types of art using ink. It only costs 5,000 won to attend the class, and all materials will be provided for you. Today, Halloween is coming a little early to Gwangju! The 8th annual Global Families of Gwangju (GFOG) Halloween party will take place at the Kwangju Foreign School. The party will begin at 1:00 p.m., and go until 5:00 p.m. There will be games for the kids, trunk or treat, food and drinks, face painting, and much more. One of the great advantages of living here in Gwangju is the availability of foods from all over the world. We have a lot of people here in Gwangju from many different countries. This Saturday there will be an International Potluck Dinner which will be held to raise money for elderly poverty. You can bring a dish from your own country, and enjoy many others as well. What’s even better than that? Having some adult beverages to wash them down with! This is a ticketed event, so please go to the Facebook event page to make sure you don’t miss out. The dinner will be taking at the Gatsby Sky Lounge (that’s in the Party town 57 building downtown), and it will begin at 6:30 p.m.
The quarterfinals have been set, and all four of the games will be shown on the big screen at Speakeasy! First up on Saturday is England vs. Australia at 4:15 p.m. Next up will be reigning champs New Zealand vs. Ireland at 7:15 p.m. There will also be two more games on Sunday as well.
