What to Do This Weekend: CNU International Day, Toastmasters, and a Rave Party

It’s been a beautiful start to November, so here’s hoping it continues this weekend. Let’s see what’s happening in our city.

Thursday, November 7th

Starting today at 12:00 p.m., Chonnam National University will be holding an International Day. There will be a food zone, games, chances to experience many different cultures, and a lot more! If you would like more details, please check out the Gwangju page on Facebook, or the poster above.

Friday, November 8th

The Toastmasters are a group with chapters all over the world that help people with their communication skills. Tonight, the Gwangju chapter is having an introductory meeting at the GIC. If you’ve heard of the Toastmasters before, and always wondered what they are about, tonight will be a great opportunity to check them out. Perhaps you’ll make some new friends at the Toastmasters, and might want to do some other types of toasts? Well then, you know the place to go is Tequilaz for their Friday night specials. Start out with some of their mouth watering tacos which are only 3,000 won each. Beer goes very well with tacos, and you can enjoy unlimited draft beers for only 15,000 won. If you prefer the harder stuff then you can have unlimited rail drinks for 20,000 won. All specials run from 9:00 p.m., until midnight, and are cash only please. Saturday, November 9th

If you haven’t been to the Asia Culture Center (ACC) in awhile, today is a great chance to see what they have to offer. Right now you can see works from graduate student artists from four, local colleges. They also have an exhibit which focuses on a UNESCO Heritage site. Plus, the 10th Gwangju Women’s Film Festival is going on until tomorrow, the 10th. With all this great weather we’ve been having, you can just walk around outside and still have a good time. If you were a raver back in the day, and you want to go back and experience that time again, then you need to be at Loft 28 this Saturday. That’s because they’re going to be having a rave party! The house DJs will be featuring house music, afrobeats, electronic music, and more. You can bet they’ll have some great drink specials as well.
