Korea is marking its 63rd Memorial Day today with an official ceremony at the Daejeon National Cemetery.
Some 10,000 people, including veterans, police, and firefighters gathered there this morning to remember those who served the country.
The event just began at 9:50 a.m. followed by an air raid siren that will go off at 10 a.m. for one minute of silence.
Drivers are being encouraged to pull over and stop their vehicle during that time in order to observe the moment of remembrance.
A separate ceremony organized by Gwangju City will be held at the HyunChong tower in Gwangju Park
Memorial ceremonies are also scheduled in different cities, counties and districts across the country.
