The countdown is on! There are only two weeks left for Zumba at the GIC. If you’ve never experienced this fun cardio class for all levels, now is your chance. You’ll need to wear some comfortable clothes, and bring a bottle of water, because you’ll get a great workout. It will also get you refreshed and ready for the weekend ahead. The class will start at 7:00 p.m., and go for an hour. Zumba at the GIC is lead by ceritfied instructor Thando Mlambo. For more information, please go to their Facebook page.

The annual World Youth Festival kicks off today at the ACC Democracy Plaza, and the surrounding area. There will be an opening ceremony today, and throughout the festival there will be musical performances from bands around the world. You’ll also be able to hear buskers performing during all three days of the event. There will be art and game booths, and there will be a global food festival as well. It’s going to be a great event for everyone to attend! The festival will go through until July 15th, and if you need more info please go to the Facebook page of Butlerskorea.

Tequilaz on Friday night is one of the best places to be in town! Start off with their delicious tacos which are only 3,000 won each. You can also enjoy unlimited draft beer for 12,000 won, or unlimited rail cocktails for 20,000 won. Specials last from 9:00 p.m., until midnight, and are cash only please. The July meeting of the Gwangju chapter of KOTESOL will be taking place at Gwangju National University of Education. There will be two interesting and informative presentations that will hopefully give you some ideas for your own classroom. You’ll also have a chance to meet and network with other teachers. The meeting is a great way to expand your professional development. It is free to attend, but they do encourage you to become a member. Loft 28 will be having another one of their successful Masquerade parties tonight! There will be great drink specials, and the DJ will be playing all of your favorites. It’s been a thrilling World Cup that’s been happening for the past month, and it will all conclude tonight with the final match. Speakeasy will of course be showing the game, which will begin at midnight on Monday, July 16th.
