A great place to check out in town is the Gwangju Science Museum! They have a lot of different exhibit halls, including one for kids, and a special video display. There will also be special programs going on during the summer, such as a science magic show, and an event about sharks. While you’re there, check out their VR display! Even if you’re not a big fan of science, you’ll find something to enjoy at the Gwangju Science Museum. For information in English, please follow this link (the main page is in Korean).

If you’ve seen all the big summer blockbusters already, then you might want to check out Gwangju’s oldest theater for something different. The Gwangju Cinema is the home for foreign films, independents, documentaries, and more. Currently playing is The Square, which stars Elizabeth Moss (The Handmaiden’s Tale). To find out more about this film, and others that are playing there, please check out their Facebook page.
