Have you been enjoying the World Cup so far? There have been a lot of great games so far. Let’s see what’s happening in our city.
Thursday, June 21st
It’s getting hotter outside, and that tends to sap people’s energy. What’s a good way to keep it? Zumba! Come down to the GIC for the weekly Zumba class. All you need is to bring is a towel, and a bottle of water. One of the best ways to kick start your weekend is to take part in this fun cardio class that is open to all levels. The class is led by certified instructor Thando Mlambo. For more info, please go to their Facebook page here. Begin your weekend in a healthy way with Zumba!
A lot of people came out for the first week of World Cup matches, and week two continues tonight at Speakeasy. Some of the key matches they will be showing this weekend include Korea’s second (must win!) match against Mexico. Also, England will be looking to get three more points against Panama. Tonight begins with the Socceroos of Australia facing Denmark. Whenever you buy a drink during the game you’ll get a ticket that will give you a chance to win a football jersey. Don’t forget that happy hour is every night from 7:00 p.m., to 10:00 p.m. To get more details about all the games being played, please go to Speakeasy’s Facebook page.
Friday, June 22nd
The only place you’ll find Gwangju’s weekly open mic night is Loft 28! If you want to participate, then all you have to do is bring your own instrument and Loft will take care of the rest. Need some encouragement? How about all performers will receive one free drink! Make sure you get there early so you can try some of the delicious food on their menu. Open mic will begin at 10:00 p.m., and if you need more details then please go to their Facebook page. When Gwangju residents are looking for great specials on a Friday night, they know the place to go is Tequilaz! They have tacos for 3,000 won each to start things off. With those delicious tacos you can enjoy drafts for 12,000 won. They also have unlimited rail cocktails for 20,000 won. All specials are cash only please, and they last from 9:00 p.m., until midnight. For more info, please go to their Facebook page.
