Thursday, July 5th
A healthy start to the weekend is always a good idea, and Zumba is one of the best ways to accomplish that. Zumba is a fun cardio class that is open to all levels. It takes place at the GIC starting at 7:00 p.m., and goes for an hour. You’ll need to wear some comfortable clothing, and bring a bottle of water because you’ll get a great workout. If you’ve never experienced Zumba before, you’ll only have three more weeks left to try! For more details about the class, please go to their Facebook page. Friday, July 6th
Friday specials at Tequilaz are a great way to begin the night! Start off with their delicious tacos which are only 3,000 won each. You can also enjoy unlimited draft beer for 12,000 won, or unlimited rail cocktails for 20,000 won. All the specials are from 9:00 p.m., until midnight, and are cash only please. Join your friends, or make some new ones at Tequilaz on Friday night! For more details please go to their Facebook page. Loft 28 is the place to be for Gwangju’s only weekly open mic night. If you want to perform all you have to do is bring your own instrument, and Loft will provide the rest. If you need another reason to show off your talent, all performers will get one free drink. Saturday, July 7th
July is the last month to catch some of the exhibitions at the ACC. PARKing CHANce, and From Vietnam to Berlin will finish up tomorrow, July 8th. The Tattooed Asia exhibit will end on July 29th. There will be an art exhibition featuring local artists in Sangmu today. It will take place at Rooftop N Lounge starting at 9:00 p.m. Following the show there will be an after party with a live DJ spinning your favorite music. The World Cup actions continues at Speakeasy this weekend with the beginning of the quarterfinals. The first two games will kick off on Friday night, but the big one will be tonight at 11:00 p.m. Fresh off their exciting penalty shootout win against Columbia, England will face Sweden for a chance to make the semis.
