Saturday, December 1st
The Gwangju Performance Project (GPP) wowed audiences with their first musical production, Little Shop of Horrors. Now their last show of the year might be the biggest and best yet! The GPP is proud to present their production of the Tony winning Broadway musical, The Wiz! The Wiz is an urban retelling of the classic children’s story The Wizard of Oz. The Wiz was one of the first, big scale musicals with an all African-American cast. All of the GPP members have been working hard to present another great musical for the residents of Gwangju. The first two shows take place today at 3:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. There will be another performance tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. as well. If you can’t make it this weekend, there will be three more shows from December 8th, to the 9th. For all the information that you need, including how to order your tickets in advance, please go to the Facebook event page. Go out and support live theater in Gwangju!
Sunday, December 2nd
After a busy weekend out on the town, you might be looking for a nice, relaxing way to begin the week. Look no further than the GIC for their Sunday morning yoga class. The class will begin at 11:00 a.m., and you will have to bring your own mat. They also suggest a donation of 5,000, to 10,000 won. The class is led by Emily, a yoga instructor who was trained in America. For more details, please go to their Facebook page.
Adopt-A-Child for Christmas still needs your help! They’re looking for less than a dozen people to make sure that the kids in the local Gwangju orphanages have something to open. If you are interested in personally buying a gift, please follow this link to their Facebook page.
